Spirit Hotels takes its responsible gambling responsibilities very seriously and welcomed the opportunity to host and open Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (RGAW) for 2017 at the Newnham Hotel in Queensland on 24 July.
The theme of RGAW campaign this year was 'Is your gambling getting out of hand? Think of your family’. The RGAW campaign was aimed at reducing the stigma associated with problem gambling and encouraging positive help-seeking behaviour. This year RGAW was also targeted at family, friends and work-colleagues of problem gamblers.
Spirit Hotels worked closely with Relationships Australia Queensland’s Gambling Help Service to host and open Responsible Gambling Awareness Week.
Relationships Australia Queensland operates Gambling Help Services across Queensland and together with other service providers, Industry and the Queensland Government; they work within a harm minimisation framework to reduce the impact and severity of problem gambling on clients and their families.
